In 1978, the founders of Framar, Frank and Maria, started their journey in a salon. Meet Maria - the embodiment of Framar's soul, who continues to provide a strong foundation for the company today. For the first 20 years, Maria was a one-woman show, overseeing every aspect of the business, from production and sales to manually packing each order. Over 35 years after taking a leap of faith to create this company, Maria remains at the helm, serving as the company's President and staying intricately involved in all things Framar.
Framar was founded in 1986 when Maria created the company out of the back of her husband Frank's salon, becoming the first in Canada to produce foil specifically designed for hair stylists. As the Framar family grows with every #framar post, we are building an amazing global network of people who share our passion for hair. Together, we support each other through innovation, creativity, and community.
What sets Framar's products apart is the team's dedication to pushing the boundaries of the industry, reinventing hair tools. Framar is a family-owned business, with Maria's sons working in the office every day. In 2017, Maria collaborated with renowned hairstylist Guy Tang at the Long Beach ISSE Hair Show.
Framar's Black Dreamweaver Highlighting Combs are designed to save stylists hours on their highlighting applications. The set includes three different-sized combs that quickly and easily separate hair into small sections for highlights. A single comb movement creates several even sections ready for painting, a step that typically requires several minutes of tedious weaving with a pintail. The combs are static-free, preventing frizz and flyaways that can interfere during lightening services. Each lightweight comb features a stainless steel tail to seamlessly section the hair.
Framar's journey began when founder Maria Gallo saw an opportunity to introduce hair foil to salons across Canada. Partnering with her husband, Frank, the duo faced challenges and repeated rejection from salon owners, but persevered. Maria became an over-the-phone sales specialist, working with a network that helped introduce Framar to hairstylists across the country, many of whom are still loyal customers 35 years later.
Framar's products are designed to honor the spirit of the hairstylist and inspire the creativity that embodies their craft.
